Rico Carter

Vice President for Membership-elect

Rico is an incoming M1 at Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine. Rico completed his Master of Medical Science degree in 2022 at the University of South Florida (USF) Morsani College of Medicine. Before earning his master’s degree, Rico earned his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the University of South Florida and graduated with cum laude honors in 2021. He also earned his Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College (HCC) in 2019.

Rico has been involved with Å·ÃÀAƬ for seven years and has served in numerous leadership roles within the organization. He has served as a local Å·ÃÀAƬ chapter President, Å·ÃÀAƬ national Premedical Membership Director, Premedical Trustee, Community and Public Health Chair, and currently as Vice-President of Membership Elect. Rico is eager to work with the current medical student membership and expand Å·ÃÀAƬ’s medical student membership to increase the organization’s advocacy power as future physicians.

Rico is passionate about improving access to health care for marginalized populations, more specifically to underserved communities of color, and achieving health equity in the United States and across the globe. Rico enjoys sports(watching/playing), traveling, playing video games, and spending time with family and friends.
